Anyone over the age of 16 who has not yet had Covid-19 vaccine, or anyone over the age of 18 who is now due a second dose can get theirs at walk-in clinics across Wolverhampton this week.
All of the clinics open around the city have Pfizer vaccine available, and most have AstraZeneca as well. There’s no need to book ahead as vaccines are offered on a walk-in basis.
Councillor Jasbir Jaspal, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, said: “We've seen nearly 1,000 new cases of Covid-19 in the city in the last seven days alone, with increasing infection rates among younger people, so it's important that everyone who can has their vaccine as soon as possible.
“Vaccination gives the best protection from the virus and reduces the chances of passing it on to others too, so the more people that are vaccinated, the less chance it has to spread.
“Everyone aged 16 or over is eligible for their vaccine, so if you haven’t had it yet, or if you are 18 or over and are due your second one, please do so as soon as possible.”

Latest figures show that there were 363.8 new cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 people in Wolverhampton over the last seven days. That means 957 people tested positive for the virus in that same time period, although the true number of new cases is likely to be higher.
